So what did I review this week? A pretty productive week all round, being off work certainly helps but having a poorly ankle does not! Thankfully my cast is off and I’m slightly more mobile this week – hooray!
But injury doesn’t stop the wheel of reviewing turning, oh no…so here’s my thoughts on each of my reviews this week.
Benny and Joon (1993) https://claratsi.wordpress.com/2013/04/15/benny-and-joon-1993-2/
The Master (2012) https://claratsi.wordpress.com/2013/04/16/the-master-2012/
Oblivion (2013) https://claratsi.wordpress.com/2013/04/17/review-oblivion/
Turbo Review: Total Recall (2012) https://claratsi.wordpress.com/2013/04/18/turbo-review-total-recall-2012/
The viewing week and reviews to come…
What I have learned quite a bit about this week is that reviewing is a vicious circle. Writing reviews takes away viewing time, watching films takes away writing time. The balance is tricky to get.
Most of my review writing this week has taken place in the early mornings, leaving an afternoon to hopefully discover something great to review.
Lantana and Animal Kingdom were two such watches. I knew much about Animal Kingdom and after being reminded of its greatness by Ryan at https://ryansfilmreview.wordpress.com/2013/04/03/animal-kingdom/ I watched it on Lovefilm.
I hadn’t heard of Lantana before, I saw it alongside some ‘critically acclaimed dramas’ on Netflix. It was keeping some esteemed company in there so I give it a shot.
Both were superb and I will be reviewing them next week in my “Wizards of Oz, Parts 1 and 2” – so look out for them.
I watched Silver Linings Playbook last night, very good too. I will be reviewing that next week also.
As always, thank you all again for your visits and your continued support is very much appreciated.
