New Trailer: Killing Them Softly

Aussie Director Andrew Dominik isn’t the most prolific chief known, only directing three films in his career so far since 2000, with Chopper, The Assassination of Jesse James(Review)…and this new collaboration with Brad Pitt, Killing Them Softly.

But it’s quality that counts and Dominik is unquestionably a fine director, so this latest rare offering is very welcome indeed and should be a fine follow up to his last Pitt alliance.

Perhaps not surprising, but with Jesse James well placed in my own Top Ten, my expectations for this is high.

Pitt plays Jackie Cogan, an enforcer who investigates an amateur heist during a mob poker game.

One thing you can likely expect from Dominik is style and quality, and this looks really, really good.

  1. Wow! I don’t normally watch trailers but that looks absolutely superb man. I’m a big fan of the whole cast, particulary Gandolfini and a personal favourite of mine, Richard Jenkins. A very talented but highly underrated actor. Pitt and Liotta are no slouches either. Can’t wait for this one. This could be the new Drive.

    • Ha, funny that, I think i will be boycotting trailers very soon as they’re getting ridiculous, in terms of showing TOO much. Jenkins is always good seen him twice this year, The Rum Diary and Cabin in the Woods and again in Will Ferrel movie, step brothers (you love him – ha!) Dominik is a superb director and you know my love of Jesse James.
